The Story Behind Pac-Man

Pac-Man was created by Toru Iwatani, a Japanese game designer working at Namco. His inspiration came from a pizza with a missing slice, which led to the creation of the iconic yellow character. Google’s Interactive Doodle

In 2010, to celebrate Pac-Man's 30th anniversary, Google launched its first interactive Doodle. Unlike other static doodles, this one allowed players to enjoy the game directly on the search page. The design included the original maze, sound effects, and even the option to play cooperatively with Ms. Pac-Man. The doodle was so popular that Google decided to keep it permanently available in its Doodle archive.
