Blob Opera

About the Game

Blob Opera is a fun artificial intelligence game created by David Li in collaboration with Google Arts & Culture, where you can create your own opera by controlling the voices and their tones. The game uses real voices, including soprano, contralto, tenor, and bass. Each blob essentially represents one of these voices, and players can easily control them (without going out of tune). You can play Blob Opera on your computer or mobile device.

Tips for Playing Blob Opera

  • This is a game for exploring voices and sounds. There are no time limits or scores. Use your imagination.
  • To change the note from higher to lower, drag the blob vertically.
  • To change the type of voice, move the blob sideways.
  • The blobs tune themselves automatically.
  • Once you understand how the different sounds harmonize, try recording your masterpiece!

Blob Opera was created in 2020 by David Li in collaboration with Google Arts & Culture.
